Our story

CICR was founded in 2019 from grassroots action addressing the barriers affecting indigenous children, women and families. Our work grew through dialogue with people directly experiencing challenges related to protection, harmful practices, education, health, water, livelihoods and climate change.

Today, we connect community leadership and indigenous knowledge with schools, health services, public institutions, civil society and development partners—building solutions with communities rather than for them.
